From Chris Yeaton...
Aloha everyone~ I just wanted to remind you all that next week is the BIG SHOW! I have the great honor of hosting and opening a Woodsong event featuring world renown fingerstyle guitarist and Windham Hill performer Alex, de Grassi. The necessary information about this concert is on this page. Check the bottom of this email for the up coming mainland tour we have set up for February of 2004.
Our next concert: Where? Aloha Theatre When? August 30, 2003 Time? 7pm doors open at 6:30pm Tickets? $18 in advance $22 at the door
Exposed from his earliest years to a variety of musical influences, de Grassi recorded his first album Turning: Turning Back in 1978 for Will Ackerman's start-up Windham Hill label (Acoustic Guitar magazine recently cited this album among the top ten essential fingerstyle recordings). The overwhelmingly positive response to the album and the follow-up, Slow Circle, launched him on a career as one of the most innovative fingerstyle guitarists and composers of guitar music. One of de Grassi's trademarks is his ability to create a highly orchestrated sound in his solo guitar music.
