Spent my day in NYC yesterday at the HCF holiday party. Whoo, what a long day, but it was a lot of fun. Mahalo to:- The Aloha Boys from the Washington, D.C. area who trekked through the snow to perform for us. The music was awesome!
- All the hula dancers who entertained and performed so gracefully. It was a gift to see the range of hula from keikis to dancers who performed at the Lexington Hotel (NYC) in the 1960s.
- The ono food! So many people brought food. Hakata Grill's poke was incredible.
- The silent auction and crafts offered so many goods and services that it was a shoppers heaven. Personally, I was happy to see that Patrick Landeza's instructional DVD received multiple bids.
- Major props to those who organized and volunteered for the event. So much work but it was a success.
Maybe see you there next year? If not, hope to see you at the Jake Shimabukuro show in January or Na Palapalai in March. |
