It's time again (wu-huuuuu!) for the annual slack key tour to visit Kaua`i (Sunday 11/23; Kaua`i Marriott Hotel Grand Ballroom; 12-6 p.m.).
Poster lists a multitude of players -- David & Dennis Kamakahi, George Kahumoku, Mike Kaawa, Brother Noland...and on and on. Admission is free, but they are asking for a donation of canned goods for our local holiday food drive. In addition, the family of young north shore surfer Bethany Hamilton will be accepting donations to defray the cost of her recent hospitalization and eventual fitting for a prosthetic device. Bethany is the one who lost most of one arm to a shark while surfing at Makua Beach here.
So what a great day this will be -- slack key, plus a chance to contribute to the island community. See you there!
