Aloha kakou,
I just want to say Mahalo for the Gary Haleamau CD that I supposedly "won". It was really like somebody in heaven knows what I was wishing for. I wanted to get some of Gary's music, and I even talked to him on E-mail, but most of his stuff is out-of-print.

So to the mystery supplier, you have no idea what a blessing this is. I have already been working on learning some of the songs on my guitar. All four guys are awesome slackers! I am hoping the Haleamaus are coming down for Ho'ike. I am almost finished with my purple satin dress, only need to hem 3/4 of the hem. And Slack-Key and Satin do not go together well, because the callouses on my fingertips keep snagging the material, and the threads are wearing off my strings.

So, for my NEXT prize, I need a new set of good nylon strings!

Maulena

Me ke aloha,
Maulena

Ooops, sorry. I didn't explain about Ho'ike. It's in two weeks, May 21 and 22. Our Kumu Henoheno is celebrating "25 Years of Hula." She started teaching Hula at only age seven. So it's a big occasion, going to be videotaped. My class is dancing five dances, five different costumes. The long purple satin dress is one of them.

(Mau again)

Me ke aloha,
Maulena
