Mark Nelson put on a couple of terrific workshops on Slack Key yesterday (Aug 28th) at Dusty Strings. His style of teaching really provides a lot of good information you can use quickly and he is non-intimidating. Good Job Mar! Also, I am hoping to jam with some of the folks I met at the workshops. |

I thought it was a great workshop as well. I just received from Bob (all thumbs) the contact information for everyone who attended. Thanks a lot, Bob, for putting that together and mahalo for a terrific workshop, Mark! Now hopefully we can manage to get together as a group sometime soon and put to use what we've learned from Mark. I now have a great incentive to put in more practice time!

Mahalo nui loa to everyone who took the Seattle slack key workshops.
I had a ball -- I think I learn more from teaching a class than I do from taking one. It was great to meet some new friends and greet some old ones.
Annie and I had big fun on our day off (Monday) -- We took in the Experience Music Project (won't one of you locals please pester them to update the bit about the Hawaiian guitar. The Hawaiians got the idea from Swedish sailors playing the dulcimer? As someone who actually plays the Swedish dulcimer, all I can say is "Puh-leeze!") We took in the Sci Fi Museum (Klatu Barada Nictu, y'all). And we scored great seats for the Prince concert! You guys have one rockin' town!
Anywho -- I'm looking forward to the next time. I'll try to get something arranged for this winter.
Until then -- happy playing!
