Aloha, Steve
August 28 at waihee church we'll have a big kanikapila. The church is next to waihee school, we usually meet on saturdays. Keith and Fran from taropatch will be there, as well as the regulars that come on saturdays. It'll start around 11am, a few slackers are coming from hana, Duke and Bob. Bob plays slack auto-harp.
Hope to see you there, anyone else might be on maui on that day come join us.

Aloha, Julie
The size of a autoharp varies, they have about 40 strings, it's like a harp thats cut down to about 15' at length and 12' wide. You play it on your lap, or hold it against your chest in a upright position.
Bob does'nt slack the keys, but when he plays it the chords that he plays sounds like a slack key guitar. Just like Led when he plays the guitar he'll tune it to standard, but by holding the chords and sliding it around you think he tune it down to slack. Bob has that same philosophy and it works out great. I've never heard someone play autoharp and make it sound like slack key.
