Aloha all you "SLACKERS"!

Well, I wasn't really sure where to share this with everyone, so I just closed my eyes (eenee meenee mainee-mo), and here it is! Just yesterday, July 6, 2002, Keith and I had a 'kanikajammapila session' over on the Westside ( in Lahaina, Maui). We got together at around 6:00 (or so) early evening time. It was out on the lawn of Kaanapali Beach Hotel. I also met his significant other Susie! While Keith and I were getting aquainted, and began playing some "Slack Key", Susie worked on her Hawaiian Quilt.

It was a rather windy evening, but very nice at the same time. While we jammed together, we were also treated to a live show of West Maui's most beautiful Sunsets. One could practically paddle a surfboard or a canoe into the Sunset. Both of us had a really great time 'JUS PRESS'N, and Susie enjoyed our music as well! Then there were others who'd pass us by, and ask if we were part of the Hotel's Outdoor Entertainment. I guess you could say we stopped people in their tracks.

Andy, Reid, Sarah, and everyone else here at TaroPatch.net, I wish all of you could've been here. It would've been so wonderful and fun! Plus we all could enjoy the Beauty Of WestMaui's Sunset. Then there was that outdoor open-bar, well, as much as I wanted to have a few, and Kiho'alu too, I had to pass. I was my own designated driver! I still had about an hour or so of travel time to drive back to the Northshore (Paia side over the WestMaui Mountains).

But just the same, I really had a terrific "Kanikajammapila Session" with Keith. Who needs a drink or two when playing Hawaiian Slack Key Maui, Hawaii style is a natural high! "Keith....I hope we could get together again." And for the rest of you Slackers....You're very invited! Hey! Whenever you plan to visit Maui, just let me know! Then we could get together like Keith and I did, and ADMIN guys too! So don't forget to pack your Guitar! You can get hold of me here at this website, or you could find me at HawaiiMusicians.com! If you haven't visited there yet, drop-by! It's Hawaii's version of a Slack Key Website.

Well, I think i've taken enough space here....ha! ha! ha! Take care all! A Hui Hou! And (REMEMBER) to 'JUS PRESS!!!!!!!!!!!

Slackkey Bill!

Thanks for the aloha filled report! Brought back memories of the Bailey House last April.

Nice reading on a Monday morning.

Aloha no e Bill,

Sounds like our kind of fun. Maybe you and Keith should take over the gig at the Hula Grill - kinda share it with Ernie (Da Barefoot Warrior). The west side does have those beautiful sunsets and the West Maui Mountains are a lovely backdrop, especially since they stopped the cane burning and cleaned up the water treatment plant at North Beach (a little :-). Wish we could have been there, but I bet that Kitty could see you guys from her tower at the airport.

laterz,

Reid

Aloha kakou,
Thanks for thinking of me ~ Reid You are all right, those West Maui views are awesome! Luckily for me they are right outside my "office" windows! The sunrises are nice, too, with the morning light shining on Moloka'i and Lana'i ~ beautiful.
It seems, though, anywhere is nicer when there are the sweet sounds of Ki Ho'alu being played!
A hui hou,
Kitty

Aloha Kitty,

Yep, I am envious of your location for work and play! Nice views indeed. And the Island Air folks were kind enough to let me send a quick "Aloha" to Kitty over the radio when we stopped in Kapalua. Say hi to Kawika and Pono!

Thanks for sharing with us the great time you guys had! You know we'd all be there if we could! As Andy says, it sure brings back good memories to hear about something like this. And nothing beats those sunsets, either

Aloha and GOOD MAUI, HAWAII Morning All!

"Eh...Keith...maybe we should've left our guitar cases open, and let people throw coins inside....ha! ha! ha!"

Aloha kakahiaka! It;s about 7:20 in the morning here along the Northshore. First of all, miss all of you! I was just reading everyones response here at TaroPatch.net. When I think about it, you guys seem to have more going on as far as "SLACKERS" getting together!
I really wish that we could have a sort of "StarTrek" ability....(BEAM ME UP SCOTTY")...and like "StarTrek" be there at that very moment. (....keep dreaming Bill) But it would be so "kewl!

Well yesterday morning I went on a morning spearfishing hunt freestyle! I wanted to eat some freshly caught seafood. Went in for about four-hours, and came out with a bag full. If you've ever tried cleaning fish or saw someone do it....it can get rather (stenchy)! That's why when I get out of the water, and take my diving gear off, I do all my cleaning there right at the beach.

It's one of the great things and advantages of living just a walk-away from a very huge "Seafood Market", and it don't cost me anything! The fish is free, and much fresher than at a super-market! The beauty of it all is that while diving, I get to choose what kind of fresh-fish I want!

Seafood isn't the only thing we got going on here in the Islands, there's also two types of dry-land hunts. One is the one you have to have a license for, and then the other is knowing the person that has the keys to a popular area (usually private property). The games are wild-goat, wild-boar, Pheasant (spelling), and axis-deer! These adventures take place along the sloaps of Heleakala.

Okay enough about hunting and spearfishing. I do hope all of you are still "JUS PRESS'N.....Just this morning I got up around 5:30, brewed my coffee, grabbed my 'Ol Martin, went on the deck upstairs, and greeted the cool beautiful Paia morning. Took in the majestic views I have of both the Westmaui and Healeakala Mountains. The inspiration to 'jus press is tremendous when you have them to look at.

Well, it's time to say Aloha Oe....until we meet and greet again. Love you guys! Take care, Good Health and Prosperity, God Bless to you and all the rest. And always remember to 'JUS PRESS....

Let's all together....keep "Kiho'alu" alive and well. Wherever we are around this world.....A Hui Hou....Malama Pono....

slackkey Bill
