I received the following email from Milton Lau yesterday. Sounds like it's early still so plans will still be fine tuned. Here's the head's up for you all...quote: I'm emailing you today to inform you of Ledward Kaapana's "Aloha Acoustic Workshop" slated from August 17, 18, 19, & 20th in 2005. It will coincide with the 23rd Annual Hawaiian Slack Key Guitar Festival on Oahu. The workshop will be held at the Outrigger Waikiki Beach Hotel (The hotel went through 30 million dollars in renovation and it looks great). The workshop will feature classes in several different areas such as: 1. Slack Key Guitar (Ledward, Jeff Peterson, Paul Togioka, David Kahiapo) 2. Banjo (Paul Togioka who's new slack key cd will be released in November) 3. Ukulele (Kimo Hussey who was one of the contributors of the Hawaiian SongBook "He Mele Aloha") 4. Hula (tba) 5. Hawaiian Songs (Kuuipo Kumukahi multi Hoku award winner female vocalist of the year) 6. Steel Guitar (tba) The classes will run from 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM as we want the attendees to also enjoy Waikiki Beach. Each evening after dinner, the workshop will feature a 45 minute private concert by one of the slack key players. After 9 PM we're thinking about a night club tour right in Waikiki to check out various artists who may be performing in Waikiki. Like George's Workshop on Maui, the Workshop will windup with a performance at the 23rd Annual Festival in Kapiolani Park (4 blocks from the hotel). There will be a welcoming dinner on August 16th and a closing dinner on August 20th at Dukes Restaurant located in the hotel. Workshop fees are $600.00 per person. We are currently working out a hotel rate for attendees who wish to stay at the Outrigger Waikiki Beach Hotel. Of course, they are free to stay anywhere else. We hope to have a website up for the Ledward's Aloha Acoustic Workshop by the end of October or early November (www.alohaacousticworkshop.com) Meanwhile, we would appreciate it very much if you could make note of the workshop on your website. Interested parties can email me (I'm organizing and coordinating the workshop for Ledward) at kahokuproductions @ yahoo.com for further information. We hope to attract a minimum of 30 workshop attendees in the first year and, hopefully, grow from there. Ledward and I thought that O'ahu needed a workshop also so people can have an option to go to Maui's workshop (George Kahumoku) in June 2005, Molokai's Workshop (Keola Beamer) also in June or Oahu's Workshop in August 2005. Workshop attendees who signup by December 31, 2004 will receive Ledward's brand new CD which will be released in spring of 2005. We're also working on Ledward's instructional DVD which will be available in 2005 and at the workshop also. I'm attaching a handout that we've been giving to people on all of the islands. Please, if you have any questions email me.

OK, that clinches it for me, I will have to move from island to island throughout the summer, only to come back to Kaleponi for winter skiing.

OK, you asked for it...
If you were changing clothes it would be "jus' dress..." If you were owning up to something it would be "jus' confess..." If you weren't sure about the notes it would be "jus' guess..." If you were buying something on sale it would be "jus' less..." If you dropped all your workshop handouts it would be "jus' mess..." If you were out of every kind of candy but one it would be "jus' Pez..." If you sneezed it would be "jus' bless..." If you were playing a game of strategy it would be "jus' chess..." If you were playing at a high pressure performance it would be "jus' stress..." If Led were into '70s progressive rock it would be "jus' Yes..." If you were worried about details it would be "jus' obsess..." If you were off on a tangent it would be "jus' digress..." If you were feeling affectionate it would be "jus' caress..." If you were really good it would be "jus' impress..." If you were getting ready for bed it would be "jus' undress..."
I need to switch to decaf. |
