John Keawe is on the mainland for the January 29 gig. But, there will plenty else you can do.
My advice is to visit the places listed above. Then go play in a park nearby. Or, go to the beach near sunset and play your tunes there. People will eventually find you
My sly advice: 1) Get out of Kona - no offense to Bob - but it is a BIG island. 2) Don't rent the white Jeep - I think it is legal to shoot at them. Bob, is there a "rent a wreck" in Kona? 3) Talk less than you play. 40 Did I say, go to the beach?
Have a great trip!
John

I had someone write me asking about music on the Big Island, and I sent them a handy recap, so I thought I should also post it here for those of you planning a trip to Kona.
Some Sundays during the month, you can catch Braddah Smitty (Sons of Hawaii) at Daniel Thiebault's restaurant in Waimea between 4 and 6 PM - special pupu menu available. Call Auntie Betty at 887-2200 and ask for his schedule.
The Sheraton Keauhou Bay Resort offers live Hawaiian bands 5 nights a week. You can call them at 930-4900.
The Reef Lounge at the Hapuna Beach Prince Hotel has Hawaiian music, usually featuring the Lim Family or Darlene Ahuna, at 5:30 PM on Friday nights. Call 880-3192 for more info.
The Outrigger Keauhou Beach Resort offers Hawaiian music at their Veranda Bar five nights a week. Call for information, at 322-3441. Casey & Gaylord play from 2 to 4 PM Fridays at the Kalanikai Beach Bar.
