Dear all,
Just joined. I play a little slack key, but mostly steel. Used to live on Oahu in the 70's I do love Hawaiian music.

We have a band in Colo. and are having fun sharing the music.
I also belong to the HSGA and contribute from time to time
in the no-pedal section on the steel guitar forum.

If you like steel, check out my radio show every Thurs morning at 6am MST on KRFC 88.9 in Ft. Collins, or stream via www.krfcfm.org
I often play Hawaiian steel cuts. The show is called Steel Guitar Jam.

more later,
Chris

Chris,

E como mai. I checked out your band website. Too cool!!! Mark Nelson and Donley are gonna love A Chicken Aint Nothin' But A Bird. I've heard that one a few times at Aloha Music Camp along with Steve Grimes throwin' in a few licks.

A Hui Hou

Yeah, welcome Chris. Thanks for dropping in. Hope you'll stay a while. I know some steel guys who will be psyched.

Aloha Chris, from an ex-resident of Glenwood Springs. Colorado is my second favorite place to visit.

Chris, I lived in Boulder for 20 years and had a bakery in Nederland. Moved to Kona and started playing steel about 5 years ago. You might try hooking up with Gordon Burt in Denver. He is a great fiddler who suddenly developed a love for Slack Key and Ukulele. You can email him through Taro Patch.

Aloha,
-Konabob

Chris,
Yep, spent many winter nights in the hot pool with snow falling to about 12 inches above the 104 degree water.
Glenwood is still one of my favorite places, although it's grown a lot in the 20 years since I left.

KonaBob -
Boulder eh? Kona is better for sure! I've thought about moving as well. I'll be in Hawaii in April for the HSGA convention, if I end up in Kona like I did last time, I'll look you up. Thought I'd check housing prices again.

How's the steel and live music community on the big island?

Thanks to Chris for sending an e-mail...
And Konabob for heppin'
I don't check in on the HSG side of the fence often...and so I miss bunches of stuff over here.
Hello Chris,
I'd heard rumors of your group--let us know when you're playin close to Denver or Boulder.
