The steel guitar is being played by a very quiet, very talented Taropatch'er, Jeff Watson. He's adding a lot to our ken...
mahalo for post, Andy!

Learning to use new underwater camera! I am sorry to leave Bill out - the one profile you see. I had what would have been a great picture of him if I could have salvaged the badly blurred picture...
Pix of me are back with the Kanikapila at Terry's house when Andy came out.
I forgot to pull out the camera this weekend and really regret it.

Hi Jesse,

Good to see your face again if only virtual. Am still floored by your latest cd. Has anybody else out there heard it? Hope you will make it to George's in June I'll be there.

I'll second that, Jim. Great job on the CD, Jesse. Auntie Nancy gave me a copy and it sounds great. I will send that iSight camera to you this week....hopefully we can work some tunes out together. Won;t be quite like having you in the same room, but this should put us a lot closer than 3000 miles:)

Maybe some year Uncle Karl will have a kani ka pila and put us up on the floor or in the shed for a few days (not in the 8 months of winter) and we outdoorsmen can ascend on him.... how about That? Jesse? Steve? Maggie? Gordon? Rik? oh yeah, many more - Jeff, Larry, maybe even Ka'ena now that she has boots. The distance will probably limit the crowd, but given enough planning, it could surely happen!!
aloha!!!

Great idea, Auntie Nancy,
I (we) would love to host a kani kapila at out place. Summer or winter, spring or fall. Best times to visit are early March if yo like outdoor winter sports; temps are tolerable, sunlight abundant, xc and downhill skiing is great, dog mushing ( i have friends...), snow shoeing, outdoor hot tubs, saunas, great northern lights displays, etc.. the other time would be late August/early September. Great fall weather, no mosquitoes, hunting, fishing, canoeing, hiking. Mid-late October has a great silver salmon run and the temps are still managable.
Our cabin sleeps a dozen, we eat well, Susan is an excellent chef, and you can use the outhouse if you prefer the wide open experience (no door)
What if I got someone to do a weekend workshop here? Patrick?
tell me if anyof you would really do something like this, because if you would, I will make it happen.

Auntie, I can get used to the shed. It's like a big doghouse right?

Oh Hey Karl, sounds like a really cool place to visit!

Yah, shed like dog house - move over, Rik like to sleep there too.
Karl - it would take planning time - need to check out airfares. sounds cold in March but I want to see Northern lights. Activities in fall sound nice... But! let's make music!! kanikapila!!!
Mahalo!!!
see you soon again.
