Our friends asked for OTR/Wonderful World at their wedding...and I talked them out of playing the CD...
So after the usual Jesu, Ashokan, Pachelbell (or was it Taco Bell?), Simple Gifts on VIOLIN-- there I was...I shortened the Iz version to 3 minutes...but kept both songs in... It was successful, tearful (some people do this when they can't laugh) and it worked! It's so hard to start putting our vulnerable and precious offerings out there.. I kept thinkin'..." what have I gotten myself into?"... But it flew, and I got heartfelt compliments....and several folks singing along!
Thanks to the angels who helped.
I changed my strum to a smoother, straight "Hawaiian strum... limited the falsetto to key parts...and didn't try to be someone I'm not... BUT thanks to the Big Guy for helping...and inspiring all of us.
