Hello everyone,
guess i'm back...
I am deciphering the Rhythm on Makana's version--especially the C pedal over 4 bars--
Hence I revive this today.
I sketched out the chords and top melodies today in a swing-like 4/4 time...
but am notatiting the bass rhythms (for those syncopated measures of C--the first bar and the third bar) with a fast 12/8 to catch the syncopations over the C pedal chords...The eighth note accents seem to be on the 1st, 6th, and 10th eighth pulses in 12/8...
I know this is a little wacked...but if I get it right, well then I can start to work on execution....
it's the way my mind works I reckon...
Makana's is supposedly based on Isaac's and Pahinui's version.
'but I haven't heard that version yet.
And I'm not sure...
and does Mathew (Makana) capo to achieve key of F, or is it likely just in Atta's C, sans capo?
Didn't want to come back to T'patch for just theory, but it's what's happening here today.
