OK - it's down to the wire time....

Who all is interested in gathering at the BLUE MARLIN
(or somewhere else convienient) RIGHT AFTER the Maui
Slack Key Festival (like a lot of us did last year)?

(For dinner and Open-Mike or Whatevas.)

If there is enough interest, AND if someone can remember
how to contact the owner, it should be easy to set up.

I think I can borrow a small sound system (4 channels) to
use for an open-mic kind of thing.

You know what guys...call Boy Kanae at 757-0359 on Maui. I started this whole deal with the Slack Key Week at the Blue Marlins 2000-2003. Although I live here in Kona, I know Von and his establishment was always open to have slack key music part of his venue. We had some great times with Brother Nolan, Simplisity, Mike Kaawa, Milton Lau, the TaroPatch.Net Ohana from around the World. So please, give Boy a call.

I may not make it to the Maui Fest but will be at all the other festivals this year.

Slack Key lives on!

Aloha, Don Kaulia

Aloha Don: Thanks for the contact info. Lawrence: Did you want to call Boy Kanae and arrange this? I can do, if you don't have time. Just let me know, ok? I'll be leaving on Friday, so email on TP or direct before then.

Brittni: Belated congrats on your No Hoku (right on!). Can you delay your flight and come jam at the Blue Marlin? Would love to see you!

Maggie,

I will call the Blue Marlin Owner (already talked to Kimo, the manager, and he seems positive), to see if it will be OK to do Open Mike that evening. After that I would like to limit my involvement to starting this latest thread, showing up with my guitar, and bringing a small PA (if needed).

So if you could call Boy Kanae that would be good!

Hi Lawrence and Maggie,
Thank you so much for your kind words! I really appreciate it!

Unfortunatly, I don't think we can delay our flight because we're taking Island Air (the smaller plane). It goes straight to Maui from Hilo, but it is more expensive. So, to change the flight, it would cost us $82. Initially when we booked the flight (which we were 'sposed to arrive on Fri. the 24th), we chose the cheap seats, but then, Keoki asked me if I could do a private gig with him on Wed. the 22nd, so we changed the flight, but there were no cheap seats on that flight.

I'm very sorry, but it would have been so much fun to fellowship with all of you.

Take care & see you next week!

Ok. Will do. I can post something when confirmed on TP before I leave Fri. Which workshop/camp are you going to be at? When are you leaving the mainland? I can contact you direct too before you head out. We can also announce it at the workshop.

Keeping Count: Looks like we have TEN folks saying they will come so far...

Maggie,

I assume that last post was meant for me:
