There are still a couple of songs trickling in, but here is a list of contributors and songs for the 2005 Taropatch.net CD collection.
http://users.adelphia.net/~jessehj/CDsonglist.html
Please check them over and see if your song is represented and if it's spelled correctly.
I'll update it as folks send me corrections.

...not a good idea, huh? Okay, forget I brought it up.
Not a bad idea at all. I have wondered about this since I think that the newsgroup RMMGA had done this with the song Shenandoah. It is a cool exercise to see how people offer up their unique interpretations and styles on the same song.

I like the one song idea. If it was a public domain song, we could put them on the web. Or perhaps we could take a famous album by Gabby or even IZ and each take a song and redo it in our own style, then share it as a tribute.
Back to the business at hand: There is one CD still in the mail to me that I know of, and then I can start burning discs. It will be three FULL discs in the a triple CD case. There will be paper labels on the discs (I know people hate them) with song track, and more info in the insert.
Last minute contributor: newcomer Heart of Texas! Thanks, Frank! A few others have inquired in the past couple weeks about getting in on this, and I told each one that last minute emailed contributions are welcome, but I haven't heard from any of them except HOT.
Don't forget, check your song listings here http://users.adelphia.net/~jessehj/CDsonglist.html
and your name on the mailing list here http://users.adelphia.net/~jessehj/CDlist.html

Jesse - I think Radio Hula is just that, not a medley. What a great variety of songs - I'm looking forward to hearing them all! LRR

Finally! All submissions are in! Auwe! He pau!
The Eugene, Ore., taropatch gang CD arrived today to cap off the effort. You'll agree that it was worth waiting for. Iwalani's voice will bring on the chicken skin! Buck's solo uke effort is worthy of the CD and so are the other songs.
Contributors: Be prepared for unsolicited emails asking inane questions or bugging you for more bio information. Please check the contributor page at
http://users.adelphia.net/~jessehj/CDlist.html and make sure your name is on there to receive a CD set. Secondly, check the songlist to see if your songs are listed correctly, including spelling of the song title and your name at http://users.adelphia.net/~jessehj/CDsonglist.html
If I've forgotten anyone or their songs, I'll gladly update those pages.
Mahalo e kakou! I'll try to provide updates to keep everyone as excited as I am about the compilation. I think everyone will be impressed with the skill of our 'net 'ohana and the aloha shared through the music.

Mahalo Jesse for waiting for us, and thanks for the compliments, too! I'm sure EVERYONE is going to sound pretty incredible! I can hardly wait to hear the compilation. Many thanks to you for taking on this awesome task. What a labor of love and aloha!

Thanks, Chunk. Everyone's been generous and I'll try and reward them with promptness. We have enough contributions that I'll have to produce almost 50 sets of CDs. That's because there are more groups contributing than in years past and that means more people want one.
What a range of songs we have this year. There is great standard slack key and original instrumentals, Hawaiian language and English originals, old kine Hawaiian and hapa haole songs. Wouldn't it be cool if an island artist picked up a TP.net original and recorded it someday?
The two pieces of choral music by Na Leo Nahenahe are serenely beautiful live recordings done in a cathedral. Recording ranges from sophisticated to the outrageously simple. Some recordings are technically flawed but full of aloha. There are several repeated songs such as "Ku'u Home 'O Kahalu'u" and "Pua Lilia", so I will separate those songs onto different CDs in the collection.
I think it will be a collector's item (but don't expect a Na Hoku).

OK, no more subtle hints; Jesse, are you contributing your beautiful voice and nahenahe guitar to this effort or not?!?!?!?!?

Karl,

I think what he is going to do is to record backwards
subliminal satanic messages underneath all the tracks.
Thereby causing us all to worship the devil, and also
in a unconscious robot-like fashion, keep sending large
checks to a certain P.O. box in Idaho!

Busted, Lawrence.
Actually, my deep dark secret is that I took this job so I could slip in THREE of my own recordings, and now it's getting so crowded that I may not be able to get any in there! It's going to be tight. But I guarantee you'll hear me on there somewhere.

ALLRIGHT!!!........the CD would not be complete without you, Jesse.
For those of you who have not yet heard him, Jesse is a triple threat....maybe even quadruple! He can sing. He can play guitar, he can dance (I think), he knows how to make recordings using garageband and how to send webcam email of himself singing/playing to lonely spots on the planet, he plays the uke, the steel guitar, he records his own back-up vocals, harmonies, even choirs to flesh out his songs. He can take anybody's songs from any format and put them all onto a CD for us to enjoy. And, I hear he is a really nice guy. "Course, we already knew that!
I guess that makes him a dodecaheporon threat. Not many of those around these days, maybe not since Franklin or Jefferson, eh?

I'll bet Andy has contacts to get this effort some press. Andy, how about sending originals to Milton Lau or someone with some clout. Maybe Aloha Joe would add a word or two to his show.
