Of course, Makoto! We have room for everyone. Submission rules are on the first page of this thread and the deadline is October 1. We are looking forward to hearing your contribution. Jesse Tinsley |

I'd like to ammend my request for the 2 song minimum-- even though my original post was for one submission. Would that still pass? I know it's getting very popular! If I get one song, I should be able to muster two...and I need to challenge myself. Since it's gonna be nearing the Holiday Season...Day of the Dead...Groundhogs and some others...would a version of a Christmas Carol (in a slack mode of course) be acceptabe? Whatever... I will comply. |

Howzit,
I read through this topic and would like to submit a couple of public domain songs. Can I just send you a copy of the CD they are on? Or would you prefer to work with the other songs being submitted... since many others would like to be heard? I'm new to taropatch, so I don't know if my material would be appropriate. I'd like to get a copy so I can hear you folks play.

You're in, too Ray! It's getting to be a big group (hui nui!) Snailmail seems to be the best way to submit them, along with the $5.00 charge for getting your own copy. Jesse Tinsley |

Hey Kory, I can handle most anything. You have some nice original tunes. Perhaps on original and a traditional one? Jesse |

FYI to all contributors: I'm updating the first page of this thread, where I've listed all tentative contributors, adding an asterix (*) beside each person's name whose songs I have received. If I don't acknowledge your package in a timely way, you might check on that page for an asterix by your name. Keith M. sent his songs via email, each about 5 mb, ripped at 160kbps and they came through fine, so don't be afraid to send them that way, too. Don't forget a little personal info blurb for the packaging. Mahalo e kakou! Email me with questions. We're down to a little over a month to go. It's still not too late to get in a song if you haven't committed yet! Jesse |

aloha all,
i did benefit greatly from the magic fingers (and great equipment) of dr. dave and his sound studio, all in his and bev's charming 1917 house in san jose. if you listen closely, you might hear rags's tale providing a perscussion line (luckily at the time he wasn't washing my toes - that would've broken my concentration).
thanks again, dave - you're the best, keith

Not to mention the occasional jet landing at SJO or the Cuckoo clock I forgot to stop. BTW: Rags misses you, especially your toes. Yesterday morning the two of you reminded me of an old western movie where one guy with a gun yells "Dance" and starts shooting at the other guy's feet. After you left he went into your room and gave that "Where'd he go?" look. It's easy to record a good player and your new original song has one of those haunting melodies that I find myself hummimg all the time. Good stuff Brah!
The jam with you and Mark was plenny good stuff also.
A hui hou,
Dave |

One month and counting to the 10/1 deadline. Break out those recorders and start practicing... Jesse Tinsley |

Jesse, Forgive me if i am being lazy for not re-reading all this thread, but have yo posted, or could you post a list of songs already submitted? It would make a rather boring set if we all sent in the same 3 songs:) I am doing Ku' Home O Kahalu'u, and either Mama's Music Box or Ke Aloha for the second song. |

That's a good idea, Karl. I don't know if I can keep up with all the submissions as they rush in at deadline, but I'll try to do that. I've only received submissions from about five players so far. Those three you mentioned aren't in the submissions so far. If others would like to post your song list as soon as it's decided, that would be quicker. Jesse Tinsley |
