Aloha all,
I own:
Graziano tenor (spruce and cypress, with worth low g set strings) Old Martin tenor (aquila strings) kamaka soprano maybelle banjo uke dixieland bajo uke fluke M-10 fluke flea 2 harmony sopranos with faux tiger striping (just too cool) 1 plastic 'uke (gotta have at least one you know) baritone cheapo 'uke
and the latest is a Vineyard soprano with a tenor neck, 17 frets free of the body-neat!
My favorite player is my Graziano spruce top with the cypress body and sides. As far as strings go, Worth strings and Aquilas are the way to go!
IMHO,

I own 3 ukuleles: - My first was a Duke Kahanamoku with plastic frets
Next two were both wedding gifts:- Kamaka concert from my wife
- Chimes soprano built for me by my friend who is a member here, Akawa341
I am a very blessed and lucky guy with wedding gifts like that! |

is there something specific you didn't like on the jenny? just wondering... |

I think it was more of a personal thing, and I think the Jenny is an excellent ukulele.
The Jenny was defintely lighter, and louder than the Lanikai.
IMHO, the Lanikai has more of a mellower sound to it (not quite as sharp as the Jenny), and that's one of the things I liked. Others may have the opposite preference.
I play a lot with a pick, so I really didn't need the volume that the Jenny puts out. Strumming with the pick on the Lanikai was about the right volume.
The setup and action on the Lanikai was perfect, and I didn't need to mess with anything. The Jenny is set higher (which I think they do one purpose) so when you get it you can adjust it to your liking.
So really I think it was more a personal preference. I know a lot of people like the Jenny, and that cool with me.
