H.O.T. Sounds like you are soaking this stuff up like a sponge. If you are reall learning all this stuff that fast, you are the one who may be the more gifted than we....we just talk, theorize, pick a little and brag a lot:) |

Karl, I can pretty much pick up the bass line and melody okay on these beginner songs I'm learning, but I can't seem to polish it off smoothly. Need to work on vibrato, smoothing out the phrases, hammers, and other little techniques that are really new to me. But you're right about one thing, I am soaking this up!! I love the music, I love the challenge!!!

relax....... you are sitting on the beach, beneath a shady palm... the waves lap gently at the shore... a warm breeze brings the aroma of salt and flowers and clean air.... your fingers are soft, your mind is at ease..... you know the notes and how the song goes.....let the mood flesh out the playing, let it smooth out the transitions, supply the vibrato that lies within your relaxed body it will come |

Thanks Karl, what a beautiful reminder. I'm not sure of the spelling, but I believe the phrase is something like ho'o mana wanui. Relax. Soak it all in, let it flow...... Ya'll can correct my limited Hawaiian, but you truly help us remember the spirit of the music.
