The 4th annual AlohaFest Houston was crowded crowd pleaser for 11:00 til 5:30 on Oct 1,2005. Location was close to NASA at Clear Lake, just south of Houston. Several halau groups from around Texas performed, as did other individual islanders from Hawaii and Tonga. Edwin K Maunakea, 83 years old, did a fabulous set of island favorites, including all the high notes. Jake Uili from Tonga was a good cook and a great singer. One of my favorite photos was "Hawaiian Shave Ice meets Texas Heat!". My wife, Lydialani and I had a great time. I hope these photo links from KodakGallery work. Sometimes they don't, but here goes.
