Does anyone know anything about the "Music is Good Medicine" program? My understanding is that local musicians can work with local hospitals and care facilities to provide an hour or so of music for an appreciative audience. Who do you contact to get involved?
My guess is a bunch of folks in wheelchairs and beds out of their rooms listening to some (not-so-great to really-good) kika ki ho'alu and ukulele might help with some healing [both for the musician and the patient ].
E nana, e ho'olohe. E pa'a ka waha, e hana ka lima.
I don't know that program,but... "Bread and Roses" does stuff in hospital, etc and prisons. They have a website. For me, I just called a few convalescent (rehab) hospitals and senior facilities. Every one were happy to set a date. Good for the soul.
