Please post this type of information in the "'Uke Talk" or "Kanikapila" forums (and avoid using all-uppercase if possible). Thanks and welcome to Taropatch.net.

Craig
My goal is to be able to play as well as people think I can.

Aloha Frank!!
Thanks for the post! Much as I try to find guitar players closer to LA, they are still lurking in the wookwork.

Frank,
Nice to see you logged in! For those of you that don't know Frank, he devotes many hours of his time to create an atmosphere of learning, trust, and fun. This group has already outgrown the capacity of one Hawaiian restaurant. They are quickly reaching capacity of the pizza parlor. He has audio equipment set up, usually a bass player or two, some guitars, and tons of ukuleles and players of all shapes, ages, and sizes. There is room cleared for the hula dancers to enjoy the music (keep your eyes on the hands). There have been guest professional Hawaiian musicians drop in and entertain and teach. Even if you don't know a single ukulele chord, and you only have that 40 year old plastic ukulele to bring -- come on by and pull up a chair. The pizza is good, the beer is good, the people are great. They will teach you the chords and before you know it you will be singing too.

This is the "Kanikapizza" I have been referring to.

And when Frank is nice and everyone else is eating their pizza there is time for a slacker to plug in and show the nahenahe side of ki ho'alu.

Sorry, won't make it tonight Frank -- the SCSKS has the monthly Open Mike at L&Ls in Oceanside. Keep my seat at the Brittni Paiva workshops on Sunday!

E nana, e ho'olohe. E pa'a ka waha, e hana ka lima.
