I had a great time yesterday and got to see friends both old and new. Upon arrival, Uncle Led tells me, "Hey, somebody is looking for you." That someone was Auntie Maria. Nice to meet her finally, in person. Aloha Auntie! As always, the festival was a fun filled day of incredible music.

I didn't get a program so from memory here's who played... hopefully I do not forget anyone.

Cindy Combs
Carlos Andrade
Dwight Kanae
Ken Emerson
Brittni Paiva
Paul Togioka
Jeff Peterson
Pali
Kawika Kahiapo
Walter Keale
Mike Ka`awa
Brother Noland
Ledward Kaapana
David Kamakahi
Dennis Kamakahi

I agree... just awesome!

Andy,

Sounds great!

If you are on Kaua`i long enough, go see Kaui Low and Kirby Keough at Joe's on the green in Po`ipu - Wed & Thurs; Ken Emmerson and Pancho Graham in the La Cascata restaurant in the Princeville Hotel - Mon & Tues; Ken, Pancho and Kirby in the Princeville Hotel Living Room on Sun night. Pancho does a solo at the Lighthouse Bistro in Kilauea on Wed night. Cindy Combs plays at the Hanapepe Cafe on Fridays. Leilani Bond plays at the Seaview Terrace in the Hyatt in Po`ipu several nights during the week. She has a Keiki Hula show there on Tues.

Additional performers at the Kaua`i Slack Key Festival:
with Carlos Andrade, were Pat Cockett and Pancho Graham (check out their brand new CD -- the group's name is Na Pali)

And another Kaua`i "must do" -- Tuesday nights at Tahiti Nui in Hanalei, Keli`i Kaneali`i (one-half of the original Hapa).

Andy, it was so nice to finally meet you and your sweet wife!

When you emailed to say "Let's try to get together", how come neither of us thought to plan a specific time and place??? Too funny, each of us asking the musicians "Have you seen ---?"

FYI to all -- the only "indoor" Slack Key Festivals, are on Kaua`i and Hawai`i. Here on Kaua`i we _love_ that the weather is never a factor!
