No - the first shows what the area looked like before the bench collapsed, the second shows that where all of that land used to be is now just pretty blue ocean. I suspect that the plume is now off camera to the right (you can see some unrest in the water that may be that edge of the disruption from the firehose lava entry)

I love volcano pictures. An active (Hawaiian) volcano should be on the must see in a lifetime list a couple of notches above a hula dance. The sight, the sound, the smell, the vibrations. Very spiritual.
