Latest news to add to this; following Friday night's concert, there will be two days of slack-key and `ukulele workshops (on April 1 & 2), presented by Patrick Landeza's Hawaiian Music Institute. Instructors include Landeza, Cyril Pahinui, Dennis and David Kamakahi. (Originally scheduled for February.)

Exact locale and class line-up will be announced later, after Patrick wraps up remaining details.

Sigh of relief...February woulda been mighty awkward and might have led to some very unseemly pouting :-)

If it's like last year, the workshop is all day Saturday and all day Sunday. Compression style learning, to be ingested and chewed on later.

If I recall correctly there was a beginners class and an intermediate/advanced class. Cost was $125.

April 1st there's a ho'olauleia at Chief Leschi HS on the Puyallup Rez being put on by the 50th State Club of Tacoma. I was told that the slack key kumu might make an appearance there. That might affect the Saturday schedule, but the event a Chief Leschi HS is always good fun!
