Eh Howzit TP OHANA,
Milton Lau called me last week saying this year's Big Island Slack Key Festival will be held on Sunday, September 3, 2006 Labor Day Weekend at the Sheraton Keauhou in Konad instead of the Hilton Waikaloa. I think this is a good move because more local people will attend. The Sheraton had a couple 'free' concerts earlier this year with outstanding crowd turn outs.
I'll be hosting pre & post concert events like I did at Maui's Blue Marlin. This will be at Huggo's in Kona on Saturday, September 2, 2006 from 6pm to 11pm and Sunday after the concert until 11pm.
If you have not visited the Big Island for a while, you will notice a lot of construction activities. The Big Island is going through some massive changes. I have been living here since 2003 and have not been active in the concert venues but keep up with the weekend appearences at Huggos & the Body Glove just to keep my 'chops'.
So mark your calendars. Hope to see you all soon on the Big Island.
Next year I'll get back into the Kauai, Oahu, Molokai & Maui scene. I'm just way too busy with my day job and my daughter's recording project.
