Respectful disagreement is good, if not vital to a democracy in my opinion.
But what strikes me most about the polarization we see today is the bitter vilification of those who dare question the constitutionality or the necessity of certain actions by our government. Sorry, it is not necessary to trash the Bill of Rights or the health of our planet in the name of national security.
