First of many sporadic Pop Quizzes to come!
Who can name a wahine slack-key player from each of the islands? Bonus points if you list any recordings they might have.
Fortune Kookie Prize: you will experience infinite praise and admiration!
partial answers are just fine, OK.
Maybe Auntie Maria can help me with the answer if nobody else gets it ;) 'cause I shure don't have 'em all!
Good Luck, ready, GO

Big Island: Cindy Shriver, "Na Mele Kahiko" Lehua Ka`apana Nash, "Ki ho`alu Ka`apana Style" (but maybe she lives on O`ahu now)
Maui: Lei Ryder, "Kukuipuka" (The latest, but it is not so much slack key as earlier ones, I think she was also Ikaika's teacher at one time. Is that true Kevin?) Owana Salazar (Shoulda bought a CD in NY :-)
O`ahu: Haunani Apoliona, "E Mau Ana Ka Ha`aheo" (in Olomana) Ku`uipo Kumukahi, "Na Leo Kama`aina O Ku`u `Aina Ho`oheno" (Ku`uipo was forming here own list/directory of wahine slack key players a few years ago. She is on the newsgroups occasionally. Maybe somebody can find her and ask about it.)
Kaua`i: Cindy Coombs, "Slack Key Lady"
Lana`i: ? Ni`ihau: ?
No fair looking through Auntie Maria's site :-)

Thanks Reid!
I only knew of Owana Salazar and Cindy Coombs, so you've given me some new music to check-out.
I picked-up Owana's latest last month in SF when she and Led were there; I really like her Hi'ilawe with a little Hendrix thrown in.
OK, anybody gonna take a crack at Ni'ihau and Lana'i ?
