Anyone watch Samantha Brown? I recently caught an old show, dated 2000, but in an episode titled "True Hawaii", there was a feature about Keali`i Reichel. The program also had keiki hula and volcanos.
Pleasant surprise to catch some Hawaiian music on TV.
There's probably about a dozen episodes in the "Girl Meets Hawai`i" series, and from time to time, the Travel Channel will run them as a marathon; I think I've caught them all on tape at one point or another. You all know how bad/sloppy/inaccurate some TV programs about the Islands can be - these are pretty good, overall; they clearly put some effort into research.
