I've noticed that several of us taropatchers are involved with the Hawaii Music Awards this year and I'm proud of that fact. Please take the time to listen and vote for your favorites. It took me over an hour to listen to all the tracks and decide on my favorites so be patient. The problem I encountered was the "choke" variety in the first time artist section where surprizingly I thought some albums were better than mine. Oh well, I voted for mine anyways muhahaha.
Please vote for the "the mainkaukau" because for me, 2 votes are better than none.

Please vote for Steven Espaniola for "New Artist of the Year" because he deserves it.
Please also vote for Keali'i Blaisdell's Keeping It Traditional in the Traditional Hawaiian Category because Keali'i deserves the award. Mahalo! |

| 'Ae, I agree with HML06. I recommend you vote for him even if he isn't your favorite because I'd love to see him receive the award. He has a great voice, is awesome at playing ki ho'alu, is a terrific haku mele composer, and even sings leo ki'eki'e! Check him out if you haven't heard of him before. I hope he has at least one hoku nomination too. |

Mahalo for your support and your kind words...however,I tend to find that the awards are more of a popularity contest than that of a deserving nature. I'm really not in this business for any award, or for recognition for that matter. Simply put, I do it for the love of Hawai`i, love for our culture, love for our people and most importantly, love for hawai`i's music. Passionate, that I am. And if I receive an award, it is because it is earned, not because of a popularity contest. Thank You all for your continous support.
