Aloha,

I have just learned that in addition to the artists I mentioned in a previous posting, other Grammy nominees will be doing a free performance at Borders in El Segundo on Saturday, February 10.

Here is the schedule:
12:30 P.M. - Ledward Kaapana (and possibly other artists)
2:00 P.M. - Amy Hanaiali'i Gilliom
3:00 P.M. - George and Keoki Kahumoku, Richard Ho'opi'i, Daniel Ho, and Da Ukulele Boys, Garrett Probst and Peter deAquino.

That's a heck of a lot of fine Hawaiian entertainment, and it's free!

Borders is located in the new shopping center at the northeast corner of Rosecrans and Pacific Coast Highway.

My memories of southern California geography are a bit hazy -- are Manhattan Beach and El Segundo close?

I ask because, according to Amy's website, she'll be performing at Borders Books - Manhattan Beach on Sat 2/10 @ 2pm:

Auntie - Yes, Manhattan Beach is the next city south of El Segundo. Manhattan Beach is on the other side of the street from the Borders store.

A number of the businesses that are across Rosecrans actually in El Segundo are often referred to as, "the Manhattan Beach....." and I don't think we have a Borders... but stuff is growing so fast here, hard to keep track, except the traffic is looking horrid.

A big Mahalo to all the artists and their families for being so kind to welcome us to Borders and share their music and their aloha. And thanks to Milton Lau for bringing us the slack key festivals. He joined us at Borders as well.
Aloha nui loa to all the slackers - keep spreading 'round the world!

Agreed, Fran -- and that beauty standing next to Ike (Mike's dad, for those who may not know), is Mike's gorrrrrrrrrrrgeous sister (whose name totally escapes me, at this early morning hour!).
