In the print edition of the magazine, there is a very interesting article on using bamboo to build houses. An outfit is working on developing the sources for locally grown bamboo to manufacure pre-fab houses made of bamboo, which is very sustainable, according to the article. Supposedly the house can be built in 5 days or so. It said bamboo can grow up to 4 feet in one day! The picture of the bamboo house in the article is absolutely gorgeous.
