I would love to link up with people interested in slack key in the Houston area. I have been teaching myself slack key for the past few years, and hope to share ideas.

Hi Jim,
Not near you, probably a 3+ hour drive, but former student of Uncle Ray Kane, Bill Haumana Raissle, is in Texas. According to the Dancing Cat website, he offers workshops and classes in slack key guitar in the San Antonio, Texas area. Here's his info:

I ran across this discussion quite accidentally but would love to share what Slack Key I know with friends over in Houston. I studied from Uncle Raymond Kane for years and am very faithful to his style. Hope you're having fun with your guitar -- if more people played slack key, the world would be a more peaceful place.
