"Female players" ..... hmmm
I am really interested in playing Ki'hoalu, but since I'm short and have even shorter arms, it's been difficult. I can't even get my arms around a regular guitar. Thank goodness for Baby Taylors, I now own one, but still am short on time to practice. Every time I show up at George's beginning class (I'm always a beginner) I imagine him rolling his eyes. Luckily he has lots of patience....But SOMEDAY, I will surprise everyone, even myself!!
Keep plucking, Julie |

BTW, anyone know the lyrics to Salomila beyond the "Shine a light on me..." and "Take away your hand..." verses?
Aloha:
I don't think I've ever seen published lyrics or music to the song "Salomila." I believe the song falls within that true folk music tradition where the person playing it will make up lyrics or verses to the song...sometimes on the fly. I've actually seen it happen at a jam once many years ago. So the "are you on the pill" line seems to me to be just a modern continuance of that tradition. Kind of like the tune "Sassy," where the lyrics are different depending on what geographical area or island you learned it at.

Music and the lyrics I mentioned previously are part of Ron Loo's first (and second, I think) notebooks.

Craig My goal is to be able to play as well as people think I can. |
