Don't get much happening here in Des Moines but I own a used CD signed by Keola Beamer, does that count? Of course it was made out in someone else's name as it was signed when I purchased it. Even here in Des Moines we've heard that Markwitz will be doing a live interview with Nathan and Herb on Sunday, We heard Herb sing a little bit last Wednesday at Pakele Lounge, please out if he'll be singing some more on the tour. |

Someday --- in my twisted dream --- a set of Hawaiian superstars playing the Grandstand at the Iowa State Fair. Bringing my worlds together (like matter and anti-matter, I suspect.) Have to dedicate the show to Bubba. |

Thumbs & I met Led Ka'apana in the summer of 2006 here in Seattle and jammed with him. When we went to Hawaii last January, he had us sit in with him for 3 gigs: Mai Tai Bar at the Royal Hawaiian, baby luau at the Kaneoe community center and the Kona Brewey in Hawaii Kai. Then jam at his house. Wow! Also steel lessons and talk story with Alan Akaka. Also talk story with Uncle Eddie Kamai at Honey's. Then, when I went back in April for the HSGA convention in April, Bobby Ingano, Greg Sardinha, Duke Ching, Paul Kim, Jeff Au Hoy, Martin Pahinui, George Kuo, and Alan Akaka. Too much! Saw Auntie Genoa both times & talk story with her. |

Maybe Andy should start some Slack Key Trading cards. . .
I'll trade you one signed John Keawe for two perfect Andy Wangs? . . (just picking on you Andy)
In reality, I have found it is not who you meet, but why you remember them. |

T-Dan, The Uke Playin' Blue Hen Chicken is absolutely perfect. For those of you interested in why it is blue, I offer the following link as an explanation.

Thanks again Dan. You're artwork is suitable for framing. Your drawing has so much spirit and joy to it. Just Fantastic!! |
