Well, I am excited about yet another Pakele Live line up. And unlike last week, I won't be sitting on a plane missing the show. Whoo hoo! I'll definitely be watching in an hour. |

Any 'patchers out there watching tonight? This is a real treat for any slack key fan. Two slack key guitars and two of Hawaii's best vocalists (and nice guys to boot.) So nahenahe... |

Martin is about as good as it gets. He has such a beautiful, versatile voice. No mattah he fo'get what song to play...we all get da brain freeze sometimes. His voice compliments Kawika's deep, resonant voice. And boy, they are both playing so beautifully on the guitar. Kanaka Waiwai sure gave chicken skin. |

Well Andy,
This time I'm in the same boat with you. I'm away from Ca., Tallahassee to be exact. So now I know what it's like for you to stay up so late....but I'm here!! |

Shoots! I missed it again, came home from work late. Wanted to watch Kawika Kahiapo. Oh well... There will be other times. Sounded like good fun tonight. Wonder if it is going to archived? I want to watch it.

Thanks to daylight savings/standard time, the show starts at 11pm instead of midnight. Easy now!
I remember seeing Bernard Kalua and Alika Odom perform with Ledward at the Marriot years ago. Good fun with Barry Kimokeo. |

Barry sure can play the guitar! They all looked like they were having great fun!
Prior to this, I really had not heard much of Kawika Kahiapo. Wow! What a powerful voice and such good guitar playing. He and Martin sounded very good together. I am definitely going to explore more about Kawika.
How cool is technology that I can sit over here and listen to Martin live! |

Do they do any special lighting to transmit the video? Lighting sometimes makes it hard to see their faces. I could see Martin well, but not Kawika. His face was always in shadow. I love to watch faces when someone plays because you can see the love for music on their faces. |

Check out www.kawikakahiapo.com and www.kaukahi.com. Kawika has written great songs and on his solo albums is one of those guys who plays every instrument, sings every part. It's been nice to see Kawika win Na Hoku awards and receive recognition for his talents after years of being a studio musician. |
