A question: How does one count? What do we do about gaps in our slack key history, like for a few years out for surgery recovery :-( or just doing something else?
So, start to finish or actual time playing?

I'd assume we're talking about from the time you started to present. If you'd like to measure your time excluding certain periods of non-playing, etc, just post a comment of clarification. |

I've actually been playing slack key for about 2 1/2 years but there was no 2-3 year range in the poll. So I had to lie and vote 1-2 years.

Is the voting mechanism working? I got sent to a page that says I can't view results until I vote--which was what I thought I was doing.

Russell,
You are probably using an outmoded browser (like I was on the last poll). |

The polls seem to be working for most, but there may be some kinks to iron out still. What browser and version are you using Russell? |

Yeah, I use Netscape 4.7, which I prefer to think of it as "stable and reliable" rather than "obsolete" (that's a joke, son, but a serious one).
I fired up MSIE and got the link to work.

Playing slack key in a group plus this site turned me on to ukulele so I've been ignoring my guitars lately. I think I overstated how long I've been playing, too. |

I had the same problem as Russell (old Netscape), but came up with the same solution thanks to his tip/experience. Almost two years of slack key on steel string, and slightly over a week on nylon(!).
