Greetings- First post here. Not sure which category to post it. Wonder if any body can identify the ukulele player at the far left in this photograph from 1926. Others I believe are Glenwood Leslie, Sol Hoopii and Lani McIntire. Fellow in front I don't know. A little internet research revealed that Tom Ainahau and George Kainapau sat in with Sol Hoopii's trio around this time. Other guesses proffered were Mel Paoa and Hiram Anahu. I don't know what any of these fellows looked like so I cannot compare them to the photo. He has a distictive appearance. I am hoping one of you might be able to tell me who he is. Thank you.

I'll print out the photo and ask my Dad when I see him next. Most of those gentlemen were in the same band my grandfather also played in during that era.
This old photo makes me want to see the movie...just for the music, and curious about how the Hawaiian band and/or theme weaves into the storyline... Are old movies like this being saved from the fragile celluloid abyss? Perhaps a new topic...
The steel player looks like Sol. Not sure who the left uku player is but will check my tutu's photo albums from the 30s. This group if I'm not mistaken was the band in Little Big Man. Beer record posted a clip at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MqbelAJEv-c as well as clips on Sol.
