If you find yourself on Hwy 101 near San Luis Obispo (between Los Angeles and San Francisco) you should stop in a little town just south of there called Arroyo Grande and go to "lightning Joes guitar Heaven". It is truely amazing. There must be 100 acoustics hanging around, more than that in electrics, a whole room of ukelele and dozens of every other sort of stringed instrument you can imagine. He has a lot of Martins but also many other brands both new and used. (I played a neat little Washburn parlor guitar).
If you have family with you that is not as into guitars as you are, there are a lot of other neat shops in Arroyo Grande that they can browse and shop in while you get your kicks.
He has a web site that has some information on it about his high end guitars but it does not prepare you for seeing instruments hanging in every available cubic inch of the two story building.

I know where I will be spening a lot of hours this coming year.

Thanks for the heads up, Dave. I live in Olympia, WA but do get out there every once in a while. I'll have to go check it out. I always look for guitar shops wherever I go.

Aloha,
John A.
