Aloha no. Well we've been here since 1/11 and we've done a lot. I heard that we were seen at Pakele lounge. I've met with Cyril and Led and various others. Have any of you heard of Joe the fiddler? I met him many moons ago and he was in Waikiki playing on a beachside bench. He used to p[lay with the Sons of HawaII and Sonny Chillingworth. It was great to see him again. Hawaiian music is alive and well in Hawaii. The weather was surprisingly chilly and wet so we didn't get away from PNW weather very much. We are now in Kona and I am staying at my friends place. His name is Art Akina and is a great bass player, guitarist and singer. Tomorrow one of his friends is coming over to play steel with us. It should be a good jam. I won't bore you with details right now but I got to see my daughter and mo'opuna so I am really happy about that. We stayed in a twoo bedroom house in Waiake Uka and could see fro Upolu point to Hilo. Rainbows and misty rain cold nights with 2 dachshunds, a cocker spaniel, a cat, a cockatiel and a lama and four midget goats with long hair, and a Basset hound with a long face whose jowls touched the ground. What a life I tell you. It rained cows on ou way to Kona via Honokaa but thas awrite was good fun dodging boulders and erratic drivers who couldn't drive at a speed that was safe for conditions. Any way aloha for now.

The only place you could see from Upolu to Hilo would be from the top of Mauna Kea- Cape Kumukahi, perhaps? Anyway, we get the point- the view was fantastic! Meaning it couldn't have been wet all the time- although in Waiakea Uka, I can certainly believe it was cold all the time! One of the nice things about the Big Island is that with 11 of the world's 13 climatic zones, you can pick your climate. I guess you chose what you are familiar with...
When do I get my month on the Big Island? I also want the climate I am familiar with- wet tropical rain forest; sea level north end. This five degree, wind chill minus thirty BS we are having here just doesn't cut it after a life time in the tropics!

Konabob-
Been to the webcam. Actually for years I have taken the Mamalahoa highway through Holualoa just so I wouldn't have to go through Kona- but from here even Ali'i drive looks good! Thanks for the view!
