George Kahumoku and his brother Moses, originally released SWEET & SASSY in 1988 on George's own record label (Kealia Farms). George had it remastered to CD format and re-released it in 2001.

Why this album has not had more "press", puzzles me. After you've read this recently published review, I think you'll want to add the CD to your ki ho`alu library, too:

Auntie forgot a link to her own site so I'll post it: http://www.mele.com/v3/info/2167.htm

I picked up this CD when George, Keoki and Herb were in NYC last year. I do not have enough Moses Kahumoku on CD and it's fun to hear him play. The CD features Mauna Kea Mosquito which some of you may have seen George perform finishing the song with a slap on the back of his neck. One correction though. All songs are instrumentals with the exception of No Ke Ano Ahiahi. That last cut left me hungry for more vocals from the Kahumoku Bros.

I have all of George's recordings -- and I studied a lot with him personally -- Sweet & Sassy is one of the two Kahumoku albums that I keep coming back to. I think every slacker should at least gine it a listen.
