It seems that the Cafe Kaleo sounds good to a few of us and altough the cafe is small I am sure that a dozen or so people would not be a problem as the ukulele group often exceeds that number. I plan to be down there Sat. night and can speak to the manager. I will also be there on Mon. with Diana's ukulele group. I have been told that Sundays are good since they are not as busy that day and are open, I think, between 9am and 8pm. The dates of March 9 or 16 are both ok for me. It would be nice to get a rough head count and settle on a date soon to give them some advance notice. There is not an outside area suitable for our get together but on most days this time of year you probably don't want to sit outside in San Francisco anyway. If we can firm up a date we will be able to see how many can make it. You can email me at "jlsulle @ aol.com" Mahalo, Jerry |

I'm voting for Sunday the 9th, how does 1 PM sound? We might miss the peak lunch hour that way. Other times OK for me too. Those who want to eat first can descend upon the place earlier.

Ross, The March 9th date would be my first choice also. The time sounds fine; I would suggest however, that although the venue will be at no charge to us I am sure that they would appreciate us coming early and partaking of the house fare. Guitar playing is always hungry work. There should not be much of a lunchtime crowd on Sunday. Lets hear from some others. Mahalo, Jerry

My intentions, Well, I certainly want something "legitimate" but I'm not sure I'm ready for marriage. I do respect you, though. (Sorry, couldn't help myself -- some years ago my to be father in law asked me what my intentions were in regard to his daughter. Since we were going to a part that night, I answered, "Have a few drinks and a good time." Raymond |

I think I can make it March 9th. The Cafe Kaleo seems like a cool place. What's the parking and public transportation situation like in that neighborhood? |

Hi,it's Sulle' again, Just and couple of words about parking near the Kaleo Cafe; it sucks! Like all of San Francisco parking it is usually hard to find. I am not sure about Sunday, it may be a little better than other days but don't count on it. One block east of the cafe is Andronico's market with a large parking lot we normally use on Monday nights and "sneak" over to the cafe. Read the signs and use your own judgement. I might also add that if you come from the north on 19th st. you cannot make a left turn and will need to go one more block to Judah and then turn right and circle the block. I know nothing about public transportation in the area. Happy motoring, Sulle' |
