Aloha mai kakou! Just wanted to announce that my gig at the San Francisco Hukilau this Friday night will be broadcast live via Yahoo's new Y! Live service. Yahoo will also be in the house and prizes will be given. The show is absolutley free so come on down if you're local. Those of you who cant make it, are welcome to attend virtually here: http://live.yahoo.com/stevenespaniola
If you haven't seen the page yet, the layout is pretty cool with an active chat session. You'll be able to interact with me and the band and make requests, etc while we're playing.
See you then!

We'll be sending an independent mix to the pc broadcasting the stream so to all of you audiophiles, feel free to post in the chat if the levels are unbalanced and need tweaking. See you tomorrow! |

Aloha e Les, at the momemt Y! Live doesn't offer archiving so everything that you see is going on in real time. They may change that in the future but I think they wanted to stand out from other video services like YouTube. Not to worry though, I plan to have regularly scheduled performance broadcasts whenever I can find a wi-fi connection. I'll have them posted on my news link: http://www.stevenespaniola.com/news.html

Anybody else having trouble with this cutting in and out and the sound quality being awful even after they turned down the gain? More importantly, is there any way to correct it?

Mahalo nui to everyone for stopping by! Was good fun and nice to have that interaction with the online community while playing. There were a few bad apples but luckily the Yahoo engineers were there onsite and were able to block them from spoiling the fun. We had a projector set up so that the in-house crowd could see the chat console as well. E kala mai for the drop outs. The WI-FI signal at the Hukilau was very weak so we had to improvise and use a wireless aircard. I think it did a good job for most of the show considering. Thanks again for being part of this experiment and really looking forward to the next one! |
