This legend of Hawaiian music was born February 17, 1922. And he was gone much too soon just before the age of 52 on February 9, 1974.
There are fewer than a dozen of Pua Almeida's hundreds of recordings available on CD. Join me in celebrating Pua's life and music on Ho`olohe Hou, Sunday, Feburary 17th at 3pm PST (6PM EST / 1PM HST) at 50th State Radio.

I know that Pua Almeida is one of your favorites, and with good reason. He is really great. I hope you play his version of "Maui Girl". It gets me bouncing every time I hear it. I'll be tuned in for sure.
