Hey folks,
Just wanted to say thanks for all the support we've received so far for Dennis and Jeff's workshop and performances! I am truly looking forward to hearing and seeing these two perform together.
I've been told that Jeff is one of the best instructors for slack key of this next generation. A professor of music at UH, he is able to really connect folks with how the tunings come together. Trained in both classical and jazz guitar as well, he is able to translate well. I've been told that this is quite an opportunity to have Jeff here and thank Jeff for coming!
And as usual, Dennis' storytelling of music is incredible. He brings to life much of his life's experiences which he shares with us. He is such a dynamic musician! This time around, he is conducting a Hawaiian Song workshop. The only requirement is for you to bring (or share) a He Mele Aloha book! Uke, guitar and vocalists all welcome. A great way to spend an evening sharing Hawaiian music.
Here are the links for performances: March 18 - 7:30 pm Don Quixotes International Music Hall, Felton, CA http://www.donquixotesmusic.info/
March 20 - 8:00 pm Little Fox http://www.foxdream.com/foxdream/shopdisplayproducts.asp?id=15&cat=The+Fox+Theatre
To register for workshops, please email us at: Aloha @ HawaiiMusicLive.com
Hope to see you all soon! Until then, may the music of Hawaii continue to bring love and aloha!

Hey Everybody! donʻt miss out! Uncle Dennis Kamakahi and Mista Jeff Petersen.
Uncle Dennis has been one of my mentor/chaperones and has been a tremendous blessing in my ʻOhanaʻs Life. I could not imaging going through some of our lifesʻ challenges without Uncleʻs Manaʻo. Uncle Dennis Kamakahiʻs knowledge and insight makes for tremendous tools for life both physically, musically & spiritually.
Jeff Petersen is a if not THE guitar wizard. He Plays it ALL. He in one of my top 10 all time favorite persons to hang with let alone learn from. His knowledge is so tremendous and his playing is almost alien, yet his approach and teaching style is so straight forward that even my beginner students got it!. Most importantly he is very patient with his students and he always leaves them wanting more!
If you get a chance to see them perform or teach, donʻt miss it! Especially you intermediate/advanced students who like a challenge, these guyʻs are coming for you!!! Donʻt miss it!!! |

Hey there!
Just heard from Jeff that he'll have a new CD out on this tour not yet available in stores. Hope you can make it out to see these two!
There is still room in workshops in both San Jose and Berkeley. The Hawaiian Song with Uncle Dennis is one not to miss. Open to all vocalist, Ukulele players, and guitar players. Come join Uncle as he shares his history and stories with us.
Much aloha and thank you for always supporting the mele of Hawaii! Susie
