I just got a small digital voice recorder (Olympus DW-90) to record myself while practicing and to record George during a lesson. It records in a WAV format. I transported it into my computer OK, and it played in Winamp fine. However, I couldn't get Roxio CD Creator 5 to recognize the file (in spite of .WAV extension.) Olympus is saying it's Roxio's fault. I can't even get through to Roxio. Anybody out there can help, or do I just take the recorder back to Circuit City. Raymond San Jose
Roxio looks past the .WAV extension to the file contents, meaning that it's probably a WAV format that Roxio doesn't support (or else Winamp wouldn't have played it). Make sure you have the latest update for Creator from www.roxio.com. You could also try converting the file to a different format with an audio converter such as Power Audio Tools at:
My guess is that Roxio is looking for a straight 44KHz stereo WAV and Olympus is creating a mono file with a lower sampling rate and Roxio doesn't like it. As Olympus says, it IS Roxio's fault but all you have to do is find an app that will open the Olympus WAV and convert it to what Roxio is looking for.
The DW-90 looks like a neat little recorder...don't return it if this is the ony fault you have with it.
Craig My goal is to be able to play as well as people think I can.
