Might have to make another trip to our Nation's Capital. I have watched the videos on Wolf Trap's web site of Ledward and of Halau o Kekuhi, among others. That is one powerful halau. Gives chicken skin. What great collective mana they have. Now that is a group who takes hula VERY seriously. I feel almost like I am in church when I watch them dance. |

We would, Nancy. Salt-free and fat-free, of course. And, haha, we are row R seats 23 & 24. Uiha as Auntie Maria would say! I cannot wait to see Ledward, and Robert & Roland and the swell hula of Halau o Kekuhi. Wonder if Robert will dance with them? |

Maybe we'll see you folks there. Just got tickets in seats G-5&6. I wasn't sure I was going to be able miss my usual 4:00 am wake-up for work on Aug 6. What are the picnic plans? Maybe we can work that in, too. Are we bringing instruments? |

How you get G just now and we ordered immediately and got row R? It still will be swell, I am sure. Cannot wait to see the hula. I guess we could bring instruments. We will only just stay overnight the night before and the night of the show, then go home the next day. Paul is having an eye problem on that day -- he can't see. He can't see going to work instead of listening to live Hawaiian music, even if we do have to drive 6 hrs. there and 6 hrs. back.
We can make our own picnic or we can buy their high priced picnic food.
Have not made hotel res. yet. Do we all want to stay the same place? |

Nani, Ben and anyone else going. If you want to get together for picnic or jams at hotel, send me an off-line e-mail and we can coordinate. I have not yet made hotel reservations because I was waiting to see if I could reschedule a jury duty summons. Now I do not have to go jury duty until Aug. 11.
Anyone staying overnight? If so, what hotel? We will bring at least guitar and uke. Maybe dulcimer.
Time to finalize plans.
Tanks, eh. |

Pre-Performance Preview Series Pre-Performance Previews are offered on select evenings on the Old Farmhouse Lawn in conjunction with the Filene Center summer concert series. They range from lectures to demonstrations and offer insight and interpretation of the evening’s performance. Previews begin one hour before the scheduled show time and end with plenty of time to reach your seat before the show starts.
Location: The Old Farmhouse Lawn is located to the left of the main gate/box office area for the Filene Center - chairs are provided or feel free to bring a blanket and enjoy your picnic during the preview.
Tuesday, August 5: Face of America: Hawai`i Revisited
Hui Hula O Ne Mele Aloha, under the direction of Addie Chang, will demonstrate the art of hula dance.

On the road. See y'all soon. We'll take lots of pictures. Paul wants to learn all about playing steel from Jack.
Supposed to take 6 hours to get there. Wonder how many CD's we will listen to on the trip. |
