I was terribly saddened by the news of Auntie Nona Beamer and Uncle Raymond Kane, as we all were. I am playing a mini-concert of hawaiian slck key on the 24th and will be doing approximately 6-8 tunes. I would like them to all be by either Uncle raymond or Auntie Nona. Can you help me with a list? I am fairly certain Uncle Raymond wrote Punahele, but not sure about any others except perhaps Mai Ae I Ke Hewa. Mahalo

You might include Uncle Rays favorite song,"Wai O Ke Aniani". He opened nearly all his performances with it. Paul |

I think Mai Ae I Ke Hewa is an old church tune so it does not qualify as by Ray. Though maybe it is enough of an arrangement to be his.

Jim I always associate Mai Ae I Ke Hewa with Uncle Raymond because he is shown on a video teaching it to a child. I may include it just because I know it well and know he played it. BTW, Bobby Moderow has a great solo rendition of it on Maunalua's latest CD, "ho 'okanaka" |
