As Howard says in the liner notes of this wonderful CD, "As the many feathers were tediously gathered for a lei hulu, so a lifetime of experiences has brought me to this moment."
This CD has a great selection of traditional Hawaiian music sung by howard in his smooth.eep, resonant voice. By listening to him, you can easily feel his love for the music of Hawai`i. A few selections stand out above the rest: Pua Lili Lehua; Adios Kealoha and Ipo Lei Manu. Smooth and rather jazzy is the selection entitled "Moonlight and Shadows". And sweet as can be is "Mokihana Lullabye".
Adding to the enjoyment of Howards lovely music are the liner notes. Just the way I like them -- in type of sufficient size for these elemakule eyes to read; lyrics and translations, and relaly some beautiful words written by Howard's wife, Olana from Hula Halau Olana. You can certainly feel the love they share.
This would be an excellent addition to the serious Howaiian music lover's collection. Auntie Maria has `um.
