http://youtube.com/watch?v=Ty9FuMfvR-Y – Uncle Bill Tapia and Makana – Stardust – May 30 at The Royal Hawaiian Hotel http://youtube.com/watch?v=9eppkvikTIc – Makana also doing Lei Awapuhi at the same venue.
http://youtube.com/watch?v=uHZvaLwXRCw – Pipeline to Paradise – Top 10 music count down from Las Vegas. Interesting mix of styles – from Keali`i Reichel to Rebel Souljaz. And hey – who is Keola Santos? Mighty fine Hi`ilawe.
http://youtube.com/watch?v=Hw8VkpgRIfw – Raiatea – Ku`u Sweet Lei Poina`ole. Who is playing guitar for her? Very nice.
http://youtube.com/watch?v=vU-co4f0rX0 – Tommy Emmanuel – Hawaiian Cowboy Song.
http://youtube.com/watch?v=knnPMECMC2k – Vergel Jepas with Brother Noland dem on Pakele Live. A new take on Carole Kiing’s “Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow”. From here, you can get the links to the other Brother Noland stuff from Pakele Live. Very addicting and very lively, and jazzy. A nice change from what I normally listen to.
Here is something I wish we had known about when we went holoholo all over O`ahu. This is a coffee shop in Wahiawa which says they support Hawaiian grown coffee, locally grown organic produce and especially local music. http://youtube.com/user/HigherGround808 This You Tube link will take you to some of the musics that have been featured on weekends at the shop. Here is their web site blurb: Higher Ground is a new coffee and music café in the heart of Wahiawa right across from Zippy’s on Kam Hwy. We serve and sell coffee grown right here on the island along with Hawaiian made tea, honey, fresh squeezed juices, snacks, desserts, sandwiches, and live music every weekend. Come enjoy Higher Ground Coffee and Music Café. http://highergroundhawaii.com/
