Better late than never - wanted to send out a BIG CONGRATULATIONS to Mr. Jeffrey Peterson for his huge win at the 2008 Na Hoku Hanohano awards! Jeff took home the prestigious "2008 Na Hoku Hanohano Ki ho'alu Award" AND The Na Hoku Hanohano Award for "Instrumental Album of the Year" for "Pure Slack Key!"
Jeff is one of the most versatile guitarists I know (slack key, jazz, classical, anything!) and I want to thank him for being such an awesome guy to work with - always helpful, supportive, professional, humble - but most of all, for being a great friend over the years since UH Manoa. Except for that one time when - oh, never mind (just kidding!!)
Please take a moment to check out his music on iTunes and on his website http://www.jeffpetersonguitar.com/ and don't miss any opportunity to catch him if he's playing in a town near you! He's on the east coast now but will be in Southern CA July 10-14 so be sure to come take a listen and offer your congratulations to The Man.

Mahalo for the post, Mitch! I pop this CD in whenever my friends either turn their noses up, or ask about slack key. I've met a lot of wonderful friends through slack key, but have yet to convert any of my earlier friends to fans (but I'm trying, like by buying tickets to Mitch's and Doug's productions).
It'll be good to see Jeff again here in SoCal! |
